![]() September 2009 Dear Parents/Carers Welcome to the start of a new Autumn term. We hope you have all had a good summer despite the weather! We have lots of interesting activities arranged for the children this term starting with "Percy the Park Keeper" and his friends. The children will cover a variety of play activities finding out about colours, shapes, numbers, textures, the Autumn season, Harvest festival and lots more along the way! We have developed a new system using the observations that we make of the children, which will, over time, produce an individual profile for each child in the nursery, giving you information about how your child is progressing. Parents/Carers will be able to see the profile at "Stay and Play" sessions or by asking staff at any time. By developing this observation system we will monitor the children more closely and be more aware of their needs, we will then be able to reflect this in the nursery plans. Parents/Carers can of course talk to staff at any time to ask about their child's progress and the activities we are doing during the term. During the pre-school session on Wednesday 16th. September we will be having a visit from "Zoo Lab", The children will be able to have a "hands on" experience, if they would like to, of a variety of small animals with assistance from an experienced handler. Although it is not their session if any of the playgroup children would like to come along please could you tell staff as we MUST know the number of children attending. Our "Stay and Play" day this term will be on Friday 25th. September, this is an opportunity for you to see how we run a session and for your child to show you around, please come if you can, you will be very welcome. A few reminders, Please make sure children's coats, bags ect. are labelled with your child's name ,bags should be left on the floor not put on a peg, if you borrow any of the nursery clothing please remember to return it, please let staff know if you have any changes to your child's contact details, if the person that brings your child to nursery is not picking them up because you have made alternative arrangements you MUST inform staff before you leave the child or telephone 07901722687 to tell the nursery. Our recent ESTYN inspection report is available to all Parents/Carers, please ask staff. We have now produced an action plan to cover the two recommendations that the inspector suggested and this now forms part of the report that can be read by Parents/Carers, please ask staff.
