Dear Parents/Carers

Welcome back everyone. Many thanks for the lovely Christmas gifts that you gave us. We hope you all had a very happy Christmas and we wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year. Our Christmas raffle fundraiser achieved £60. Thank you for your support, we hope the winners all enjoyed their prizes.

Our topic this half term will focus on "Winter Weather", please make sure the children have their coats with them (names on a label please) as we will be going outside to explore the frost, ice and snow!! We have purchased a number of nesting boxes and bird feeders to encourage the birds into our garden, we hope the children will be able to see how the birds nest and what they need to survive the cold winter weather. We have been able to buy this equipment from an environmental grant that we applied for last year and were successful, we have already created a log circle to use for seating and group focus activities and we will be able to replace the forest bark underneath the trees.

The children's profiles that we are creating are still in progress. We are hoping to develop a format to present the profiles to you in a way that allows us to add to them throughout the year, we should have this ready soon.

We are pleased to tell you that Abby has successfully passed her level three NVQ in childcare and education. All staff will be attending further training this term in line with the Foundation Phase curriculum and other childcare related courses.
